Welcome to Doors Open through the Photographer’s Lens, a virtual exhibit by the Special Collections department at the University of Waterloo Library prepared for Doors Open Waterloo Region.
Special Collections staff created this exhibit to highlight how the photographer opens doors to spaces and scenes that may otherwise remain undocumented. The resulting photographs are a lasting door to the past!
This exhibit features work from the archives of local photographers Robert Nichol (Personal Studio) and Charles Belair, as well as images from the Kitchener-Waterloo Record Photographic Negative Collection and other archives held by the University of Waterloo Library.
Interested in seeing more images from the archives? Visit our Closed Doors exhibit from Doors Open Waterloo Region in 2010, which highlights items from the archives of former manufacturing companies in Waterloo Region.
